The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry is an autonomous institution of public interest. It enjoys its own legal entity to represent the various productive and services activities of the private sector in Abu Dhabi Emirate. According to the provisions of the Chamber law, all natural and legal persons, having their headquarters, branch or representation office in the Emirate to exercise any commercial, industrial, vocational or professional activity in the Emirate must join the Chamber and get their membership certificates. Hence, the Chamber is viewed to be the party concerned with patronizing the various activities of the private sector. It is among its tasks and duties to render best services to member firms and companies. Membership certificates are duly issued to such members who are kept updated on how to take the utmost advantages of the Chamber services and available data or information. They are also well apprised of the Chamber’s regular and occasional functions or events, as well as of its tasks and duties in general. Through such data and information, the Chamber members can participate in various domestic and international functions or events through which they may be better able to introduce their companies or products. Through such interaction, the Chamber may have a much clearer vision on their problems and the obstacles they are facing. Such problems are usually discussed in a bid to find appropriate solutions. Recommendations seeking that end may, thereafter be presented to competent authorities requesting required actions to be taken whenever necessary. Ever since its inception in 1969, the Chamber discussed many economic laws and legislation that regulated the economic performance in the Emirate. Being a member in the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry, the Chamber could play a significant role in discussing and drafting such laws and regulations on the UAE level. The Chamber presence in the international arena was gradually expanded through multi-membership in many Arab and world chamber counterparts. Thus the Chamber joined the Arab-French, the Arab-Swiss, the Arab-American, the Arab-Belgian, the Arab Luxembourg and the Arab-German Chambers of Commerce & Industry. The Chamber is also represented in such boards as those of the UAE-Turkish Businessmen Board, UAE-Syrian Businessmen Board and the UAE-Indian Businessmen Board. It is also member in the Federation of the AGCC Chambers of Commerce & Industry, the Federation of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture, the Islamic Chamber and the Arab Labor Organization. Such representation, of course comes within the framework of its membership in the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry. However, the Chamber has a branch office in Al-Ain city. The said branch is meeting the demands of the business community in Al-Ain and offers them whatever services or information they need. The Chamber has its own web site through which it avails every piece of information required by the business community in Abu Dhabi and the UAE at large. The site is also visited by individuals, tourists and organizations from different world countries.

Located in the Al Mushrif Area, Just 10 minutes from the city center, the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club is a tranquil oasis in one of the Gulf's most up-to-date and beautiful cities. The Club covers a vast area and provides members with a relaxed and restful atmosphere away from the hustle of modern day life. As the name implies, the Club was originally established as an equestrian center, but over the years, due to the encouragement and support of the late President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Club has enjoyed steady and sustained development. What was once an undeveloped sandy area is now arguably one of the finest recreational parks in the entire Gulf region. The complex consists of an international standard rececourse with racing conditions that area comparable to anywhere in the world. A number of important races take place annually, including the National Day Cup, H.H The President Cup and The Emirates Championship. These prestigious races have been established for over 10 years and are recognized internationally. The facility also includes a circular, 2,000-meter training track on the inside of the racecourse and more than 250 air-conditioned stalls used exclusively for stabling racehorses. The Club also boasts a spectacular show-jumping arena, in which an obstacle similar to the famous Hickstead Bank has been constructed, along with a natural water jump that adds to the variety of the various show-jumping events that take place throughout the season. Many important show jumping competitions take place at the Club, and the annual Abu Dhabi International Show has become well established, with riders from around the world coming back year after year to support what has been described by many as the most enjoyable event of the show-jumping season. In line with the wishes of Their Highnesses The Sheikhs to encourage and promote equestrianism among the youth of the country and to restore the ancient craft of horsemanship to the people, the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club has one of the most efficient and successful riding schools in the area, with instruction of all levels available to pupils of all ages who are wishing to learn and absorb the principles and practices required to master the art of horsemanship. For the golfer, there is a beautiful, 9-hole grass-surfaced golf course equipped with floodlighting, enabling members to play before sunrise and after sunset. In addition, the Golf Academy includes a large driving range available to all, and lessons are available from the Club’s golf professionals. The new tennis courts offer excellent facilities to members who enjoy this game. The swimming pool located beside the Golf Club House is one of the most popular places in the entire Club. The Club House offers a range of refreshments and cuisine from a kitchen of international caliber. The development of the Club and its facilities is a clear indication of the wholehearted and generous support that is given to the Club by Their Highnesses The Sheikhs, and is a good example of their commitment to the development of recreational facilities in the United Arab Emirates.

Upon the directives of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of His Highness the President, the Cultural and Media Centre was established in 2003 with the aim to enhance the cultural awareness and crystallize the values of belonging and national loyalty as well as to promote the culture and national identity. The Centre seeks to translate the relation between culture and media by putting more focus on media and media studies, therefore distinguishing itself among cultural and studies think tanks in the Arab world. The Centre's vision encompasses the discussion of culture in its wider sense, not the widespread sense; for the concept of culture includes other facets such as thought, politics, philosophy, science, economy beside other aspects of knowledge. Through its various activities, which comprise weekly lectures, monthly symposiums and an annual conference, the Cultural and Media Centre for H.H. Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. the President’s Representative, actively contributes in strengthening cultural awareness in Abu Dhabi and UAE inspired by the general features of the Federal government's strategy, as well as by the plans and strategies of the Abu Dhabi government and the enlightening statements of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan -May Allah Preserve him- in national days, particularly his statement on December 2nd, 2005 which was adopted by the Supreme Council, and was implemented by the government as a working programme. Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. the President’s Representative, Chairman of Centre, and upon His Highness’s direct instructions, the Centre is targeting the people of UAE society, and public and private organizations, in collaboration with the different government institutions so as to make the cultural action an effective and positive drive that contributes to sustainable development. The Cultural and Media Centre works within two broad cultural categories: The cultural-intellectual: it comprises the preparation and publication of scientific researches and studies, the organization of intellectual conferences, seminars, lectures, and soirees. The cultural-artistic: it comprises the organization of book fairs, plastic arts, photography exhibitions, cinematographic shows, as well as the activities that aim to strengthen the concepts of heritage and the values and traditions pertaining to the religious and national heritage. To attain these goals and to concretize this vision, the Cultural and Media Centre seeks to fulfill its mission relying primarily on national competencies and on Arab and international competencies, disseminating the Emirati culture of tolerance and moderation and shedding light on Emirati prominent figures in various aspects.
